Review: A friend of mine had this book, so I looked it up on Amazon and found it for a very good price. I am always looking to healthy alternatives for shortening and other “bad for you” fats in my baking. Combined with another book at also a very good price, the purchase of both books qualified it for free shipping. Great deal and very fast shipping as an added bonus.Cakes made with oil are moist and taste great, so there really is no need to bake with butter or shortening. This book contains healthier versions of familiar favorites. We have big-time sweet teeth at our house, but also bad genes for cholesterol. I liked this recipe book so much I bought one for all my siblings. My family especially likes the Simple Brownies and Cinnamon Twisties. The recipes are laid out well and easy to follow, and it’s great knowing the desserts I make aren’t as bad as what I used to make. I have tried several of these recipes and they are very good and easy to make. The comfort cake is to die for and I don’t make chocolate cake any other way now! Also, a favorite is the blueberry muffin recipe with the crumble topping. My family loves them.I *LOVE* desserts and am delighted that Micki has done the research to make them more healthy. I have always wanted a healthier pie crust recipe and now I have it. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
