Review: We tried two recipes from this book and they were both pretty bad. I don’t recommend it unless you like bland food.I like this cookbook. I have made the Harvest Beef Burrito and the Lemon Chicken with Bell Peppers and was pleased with both of them. The burritos, made with strips of flank steak, were tasty and filling, and this evening’s meal contained a hint of lemon in the sauce that complemented the chicken and vegetables nicely.

This cookbook is unique because it contains a grocery list for each week of meals. Using the grocery list for June, week three, I found that the cost of ingredients was reasonable, and the items on the list were easy to find.

The prep time is short for each recipe, and at first glance I thought the meals would be ready in thirty minutes or less, but this is not always true. The recipe for harvest beef burritos, with a prep time of fifteen minutes, calls for cooked brown rice. The brown rice had to simmer on the stove for an hour. The lemon chicken lists a prep time of 15 minutes; plus, I was in the kitchen cooking for 20 minutes. I wish the authors had included preparation and cooking time with each recipe.

Overall, the recipes are low calorie, contain balanced nutrition throughout the week, and are easy to prepare. I am pre-diabetic and hoping to lower my blood sugar with a healthy diet and increased exercise. This book is a positive start.

I received the book I purchased in a very timely manner. The quality of the book was everything advertised and I couldn’t be more pleased.I would HIGHLY reccomend buying from this merchant!!Not a bad product, just not as good as I would have expected. The ideas are enough for the week, though, so you can use it as a base and then go on from there.I was excited about the ease of following the recipes. We tried many. Some were good and some, well, were terrible. However, in all, the cookbook provides a wealth of easy recipes, with common food items you can find in your local grocery store.
